PROFESSIONAL STUFF
How did you arrive at Ensign? What path brought you here?
Having travelled a number of paths in my post college years, I eventually found myself studying Journalism at The University of the West of England.
I have always had a keen interest in all aspects of the media and throughout the degree my career ambitions made a slight swerve from traditional journalism to digital communications and marketing.
After graduating, I landed a digital marketing role at Ensign and haven’t looked back…
Since then my role has expanded somewhat to include many, more broader, aspects of marketing and strategic business development.
I am currently studying for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Profressional Marketing.
What are you known for professionally? What do you have a knack for?
I like to think that a combination of creative and analytical personality traits enable me to cope with the growing number of tasks expected of the modern marketer – part artist, part writer/journo, part salesman, part scientist…essentially, I am a jack-of-all-trades.
That said, I’d like to think that I am known for my meticulous approach to anything I turn my hand to…the devil is always hiding in the detail…I know this because I have seen him!
What are you most passionate about professionally? What excites you about your work?
It’s a great feeling to see my work turn into sales and new customer relationships.
PERSONAL STUFF
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy?
Where to start…? I can be often heard complaining that there are not nearly enough hours in the day to fit in my many passions and hobbies. Here are SOME, in no particular order…
Music (at least an hour of guitar every day)
Gym (boring to some…but part of my life)
Sneakers (I have a serious footwear addiction)
Travel (I like a ‘look about’)
Reading (I have a particular interest in psychology, economics, politics and history)
Golf (Probably the most mentally challenging sport out there)
Bikes (I have recently bought a road bike – Lycra is underrated)
Where can we find you when you’re not working? What’s your favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
The usual stuff I guess. I enjoy eating out, trips to the cinema, playing guitar, socialising and generally being sporty and active.
I have been known to spend a little too long at the gym…but this is mainly due to my flare for socialising as opposed to my dedication to self-improvement.
What would be impossible for you to give up?
Pretty much EVERYTHING…I don’t like giving up!
Anything else you’d like to tell people about yourself?
If you bring me Nandos, I’ll be your friend forever.
